International Women's Day FeatureWhat's going on everyone,
Some of you may not be aware but today (March 8) is International Women's Day.
To mark this day, I will be doing a rare feature to showcase some of the finest writing by some of deviantART's finest female writers.
To begin with, I present you with 8 female writers and 3 pieces from their galleries (the eighth day of the third month):

My DeviantART StoryThere's more to my journey as a writer than people here will know. I didn't start writing when I discovered deviantART and in the off chance that I do leave, you can be sure that I will endure and I won't stop.
I was going to talk about how I first discovered this site in 2008, peeking over my classmate's shoulder. I could tell you how I spent hours searching and finding a treasure trove of romantic fan art of Kingdom Hearts, Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X, and Final Fantasy. I was going to talk about how my writing journey began roughly around the time I took up martial arts, before deviantART took its first breath, back when the World Wide Web was young. But that's not what you want to hear. That's not what this story is about.
This is the story of the one who would become nightshade-keyblade.
My deviantART story began on New Years Day 2009 at my grandmother's house in Tunisia. Seated at my cousin's desktop,
Holiday/Birthday Feature2013 has been a year of up and down and everywhere in between
As the days dwindle down to a precious few, many of my ers and the people who I have birthdays in the last days of December. To show my appreciation for them and to give them a Birthday/Christmas/New Year/Holiday gift of sorts, I would like to feature some of my favourite art and writing from the following persons, in no particular order:

Update and Word Spreading! What's going on, guys?
I'm back with another update this time. My term ended nearly a week ago so I'm officially on my busman's holiday. I'll be working on my final dissertation over the summer holidays to be completed by September 1st. But before that, I'll be moving out of my room in July and making my way to Italy on the 5th. I'll be spending a week there with my parents and sisters on a holiday in Tuscany. I've never been to that part of Italy before and I can't wait to see if it is as beautiful as it is in the films.
I tried my hand at getting some prose pieces of mine published in an anthology compiled by the students of UCL's MA Publishing course around March. Unfortunately, I didn't make the cut. Oh, well.
On the plus side, I had a chance to see and talk to Japanese British author Kazuo Ishiguro, author of The Remains of the Day and Never Let Me Go, both of which were adapted into films. When I wrote m
5 Years have gone so fast5 years ago today, in my cousin's room in Tunis, I created this deviantART account.
A lot has happened in those years.
1. The first deviation of mine to ever receive a was a piece I wrote in 7th grade:
2. My first fan fiction to be uploaded to the Internet was a Final Fantasy 7 piece:
Technically, I wrote my first fan fiction when I was 12 years old although I did not know that such a thing existed. I had never heard of it until I met my first girlfriend who had her own fan fiction published in our school's literary magazine.
3. My two short stories were published professionally in a charity anthology that raised money for Barnardo's and Médecins Sans Frontières:
4. I was awarded a Daily Literature Deviation in 2013 for my short story written in 2009.
5. I brought my OC back from a long period of obscurity to appear as a fan
The Beautiful DreamerYou will never know how I envy you, Morpheus
For you are the only being that can understand what this beautiful sleeper thinks of
As she lays on that white sea, eyes shut to the world.
What I wouldn't give to be at peace with her in her realm of dreams
To see her smile oft hidden in her waking life
Under her armour as impenetrable as it is invisible.
Answer me, O beautiful dreamer
Is the world so cruel that you cannot confide in me
The secrets of your timorous heart?
Perhaps one day, I will be worthy of your consideration
And you will know me for real
Until then, your somnolent smile will suffice.
DefianceIt starts with loss,
The family torn apart, the friends lost and the peace shattered
By the darkest hearts, the most powerful weapons and the harshest diseases
Then comes grief with its tear-stained face and its anguished cries,
Drowned out by the speed of life
It doesn't make sense.
What did we do wrong?
Why is Heaven against us?
Along came misery with its stone cold silence
Bereaved hearts long encased in an iron shell, if only to fend off
The cold gun in their hands and the ledge of the roof in front of them
If there is a Heaven waiting for us to see our loved ones,
Let our death be hastened.
But the body hesitates and the mind awakens from its slumber
Roused by a single word
Heaven is going nowhere, it can wait a while longer
Justice has waited too long.
First comes loss, then grief, and then despair…until all that's left is defiance.
There He Goes AgainSo far, I can’t think of anyone who doesn't live for the end of the school year. The lie-ins, the longer days and the lazy afternoons feel like they might never end despite the fact that school hasn't released you. It’s just given you a head start before it comes creeping up when you least expect it, when the days have blended together and your calendar and alarm clock have been gathering dust.
Summer Lovin’ was just a song that brought back memories until the summer before my sixteenth birthday. My friends Ed and Hayden invited me to celebrate their birthdays since they turned 16 before school was out. We would go see a film at the cinema and take a meal, in any particular order. Their friend Ross was also invited, along with Ed’s girlfriend, Angela.
And Leda, most of all.
She arrived at school in February from the Caribbean where she had been living for three years. I'm not sure what she felt, landing at the corner of Afric
Turning Back to the StartWho says heroes needed to have powers?
In all our shared fantasies,
The heroes we created were only as powerful as the size of their hearts and the purity of their love.
Often written of, spoken of but hardly understood.
It's that many faced love that empowers us the most.
Who says a life together had to be easy?
My best friend...my true love.
Is it too much to ask for both?
Long before these words were written,
A wise man said that friendship was a single soul in two bodies.
Doesn't that sound familiar?
We've come a long way together and we've still got time.
The monument we've built only lasted because of so much renewal.
But I will gladly take one more laugh and one more tear.
One more blissful dream and one more nightmare.
My greatest wish is not for our story to end in a straight line.
But to turn back to the beginning again and again.

Literature Roadtrip 2.0 Timetable
Can you believe it? Can you actually believe it?! Literature Roadtrip 2.0 is officially here - well tomorrow anyway. But I am excited to announce that this is the official timetable! It was incredibly hard to choose who to have in the first three days, but I am very happy with my decision. I was unable to have every deviant suggested on the last day, so I choose those who were suggested the most. I hope you guys enjoy the trip and if you have any questions/have a problem with my decision/wondering why you weren't chosen/want to chat send me a message, I'm always willing to help you out!

Feature time!Hey everyone
and this is a much belated feature from :iconpoetrynprosewatchers: . I apologize sincerely on behalf of the administration for not keeping this group as active as I used to especially given that so many deviations have been submitted to this group.
Now, before we proceed, I'd like to personally introduce our new contributor: :iconthegreendragoon:
Much like :iconjwa2277: and :iconpauper-circumstance: , I'm always on the lookout for good literature, and well - I look forward to having his company around here
Why not give his works a read? Here they are
With that said, I'd like to personally thank :iconpaleauthor: and :iconecholalic-ellie: and :icondiluculi: for being active in contributing to the group's folders. good work, and I'm hopeful that everyone else (like :iconprettyflour: for instance) will like our prompt.

UpdatesRight, so... here's the tag from NathanielFlyingOwl :
1. Favorite animal?
2. Favorite Book?
That's a tough one, to be honest. I got dibs on books, rather than book. But since its one title only, Frank Delaney's "Ireland".
4. If you could go anywhere and do anything, what would you do?
(deep breath) Well, why the fuck not, eh... I'd just get a UN passport or something similar, then meet everyone I've befriended here on dA.
5. Most inspirational person for you on DA?
Its not one person, its multiple numbers to be honest.
In specific though: :iconpuzzledheartbox:, :iconlaeneris:, :iconnotensmsk:, :iconchromeantennae:, :iconbloodshotink:, :iconlethus1:, :iconyour-methamphetamine:, :icondannymechanist:, :iconthegalleryofeve:, :iconladylincoln:, :iconlady-yume:, :iconmara--skywalker:, :iconladybrookecelebwen:, :iconivorysinkshore:, :icondarkallegiance666:, :iconelite-pirate:, :iconfeanor-the-dragon:, :iconjackgunski
More Premiums, and a Massive Thank You!So I have given my final two premium memberships and they are to the lovely, kind Carson (confidenceAlive) and amazing Gabriela (weirdandproudofit)!
The person who has enabled me to be able to give these gifts is the wonderful IntraSect who made a very generous contribution of 3500 points to me which took me completely by surprise as I had not expected it at all. So this gift is therefore from both of us and I thank him for his extremely kind and generous gift. Now, as he gave me this gift, I think it is only fair that I give premiums to a few more people than I originally intended, and I have chosen some who are simply amazing and brilliant writers. So thank you Nullibicity and A-Lovely-Anxiety for being so incredible with your craft. If you haven't read their work, please go and have a read. Here are a couple of pieces from their galleries:
Show love, everyone! It's a beautiful thing.Soooo, I have a journal idea I think everyone will love. I want people to comment on this journal with people they love! Pretty easy, right? Mention/tag (Whatever term you wanna use. ) people that you love for whatever reason! And if you'd like, add a small (Or large! ) blurb why! Here, I'll start!
WeirdAndLovely, because she's the most beautiful girl on the planet to me. She's smart, witty, charming, and I'm so glad she's my girlfriend. She's a brilliant artist and I love her so damn much.
SpriteBlayde, because Kelsy is my longest (and best) friend. She's been here for me through thick and thin, when so many people have come, gone, tried to come back and left again, she's been the constant for me for two years. And I couldn't be more grateful for that. She's my sister!
A-Lovely-Anxiety, because she's my favorite 49er. So brilliant, beautiful, intelligent, and a wonderful sister of mine. We'll always be southern 49ers

WayWords (1)Hello, people of DeviantArt! I'm glad to see you here at LiteratureRoadtrip, more specifically at our Wonderful Wednesday Feature: WayWords! Here on WayWords a deviant is asked to participate in an interview where s/he is asked various questions about them and writing! At the end of the interview, I am to release a prompt given to me by the one interviewed for the group to use as inspiration and get those creative juices flowing! Now, before I reveal just who our lucky participant is, I am the interviewer/host/whatever-it-is-that-I-am-called, Eevee1999, and I am pleased to see that all of you (hopefully) made it to the premier of WayWords!
Now, our guest is a “Spudtacular” guy; give it up for Aerode! Aero here hosts two other features himself, and has impacted the literature community in a marvelous way by using his fantastic experimental poetry, which is mostly seen in his Black Widow series. He showcases his talent by releasing marvelous poe

Please give a warm welcome to SereneCyrene and visit her gallery. It's a truly moving experience
Without further ado, on with the interview!
1 - Could you tell us a little about yourself, and when did you find that you were interested in poetry/literature?
My name is Windy. I'm currently 20 years old (but I will be 21 by the time this interview is released). I will also have my associates degree in Liberal Arts. For as long as I can remember, I have always been into creative things. When I was little, I could spend hours drawing or filling up my coloring books with various hues. But it wasn't until middle school when I realized how much I love poetry. It was just a whole new world for me. I liked the way that I could play with words, and use them to express my thoughts or feelings. Furthermore, I enjoyed telling stories throu

Tell Us Your Best Moment of 2013 Feature!Hi, everyone
I thought for today's feature, we would do something a little special, since we are approaching the end of the year, and will soon be seeing the first anniversary of :iconfeature-it-monday: next month!
I think this would be a great time to have a retrospective look back, on 2013's high-light's, both for the group, and also for you, the members.
We'd love to hear your stories and anecdote's, fun things that have happened; about the biggest things that have overjoyed, surprised, delighted, and awed you, on Deviant Art, this year
For myself, the biggest high-light's of my artistic year, were:
Coming across :iconfeature-it-monday: - joining, and getting to know you all; bringing to the group, the popular Special Guest interview feature's, helping to arrange our very first Winter Contest - eventually stepping into Courtney's founder shoes, and hoping that I make the group as much fun as Courtney did
On a personal level, I celebrated my 1s

30 Amazing WritersI would like to present to you 30 of my favourite writers on deviantART. Every single one of these beautiful, friendly and amazing people all deserve to be featured alongside three of my favourite works each of them has produced. I urge you all to add all of them to your watch, add their work to your favourites or give them a comment - you will not be disappointed.
I would also like to add that I have many more favourite deviants on the site, so I may do another one of these later on. So, if you don't see your name here, please remember that you are not forgotten.
Edit: Also, it was brought to my attention that I forgot to give thanks to LadyLincoln for the inspiration for this journal entry. I'm sorry! Thank-you, lovely !
LITERATURE ROADTRIP SIGN UPS CLOSED!EDIT:
Yes, sign-ups for Literature Roadtrip 2.0 are now closed. There are so many of you, and I am so happy because of this. (Though this does mean it will be more difficult to choose for the first three days! Ah!) But I look forward to travelling around deviantART and discovering some amazing literature. I will be spending the next few days narrowing down everything. A timetable will be posted on January 9th. And everyone will receive their list of deviants around the same time, as well as some more information, through notes/messages.
Get excited fellow deviants!

Communities rely on Pillars made of HeartCommunities of all kinds are held up by pillars made of heart. Typically embodied by people who let the weight of their community rest on their shoulders, willing to let life be life. Sometimes it hurts, and sometimes it's comfortable. Regardless, the result is a halo that surrounds all participants in a community. The healing light of being mothered, fathered or cared for.
These are very special people who take this role in your community. Maybe this person is you. In which case, please be you today, and every day. Because you are very important.
For the rest of us, we all know who the pillars are that hold up the communities that we care about. We all know the value of what they do, especially when we stop to think about it.
There is nothing in life that I have ever found a deeper admiration for than people who take on this role. Pillars of Community. When a human being digs their heels in, claims territory and begins to show Love towards a group of people, they begin to embody
