Seize beauty with both your hands
Don't let go. Make it yours.
Don't let go. Make it yours.

A Conglomeration of Beauty
i. My father is a hurricane making love to the ocean. When I am in love I need someone who lies below the waves, ever swirling and present, who knows I am a tag along skiff - small, but still significant. I need someone who is willing to guide me along the deepest parts of life, water coiling around my bow to pull me to safety. That is you.
ii. With summer washed words I will tell you of my past and how falling in love is a terrible way to describe the feeling. You don't settle either, you make a journey, you create something. It is something entirely too complex to find a phrase that suits it and I will cry for days over this thought. Pleas

Beauty!
Unobserved beauty
Deep in the forest they thrive
Bluebells make no sound.

Tragedies are never as beautiful
you were the shipwreck
that was discovered a bit too late to be saved
but still soon enough to
take you out of the cold waters,
to look past the rust and cracks
and savor what was and could have been.
tragedy had knocked on your doors
and taken him away
because he just wanted closure,
for his brother, his family andhimself
you would think time, pain and loss would have hardened him.
he was more good than you remembered.
"Choking down sea water was easier
than to breathe in fresh air",was your reply
when he asked why you were so bitter
even when your breath did not contain the taste of liquor
and your acerbic smile was almost welcoming.

Yet another thought I had today. I had to get it down before it went away. A 12-word story this time; I've wanted to combined two six word stories for a while. I don't think this counts, but I don't give two pins.
Beauty has always been something that everyone knows by name but is unrecognisable. What is beauty to you? Is it about size? Facial shape? Symmetry? Hair and eye colour? Is it purely about personality?
Who judges beauty anyway? Men and women's magazines? Not for me. Is it pageant judges? Your parents? Your peers?
Unless you can put beauty into a pretty little package and tell me "That's what beauty is", none of us will unanimously agree.
I watched a video commentary on YouTube in which the presenter said "Make the fight your own" (it was a vlog about Bruce Lee's legacy and the martial arts). I'm not going to tell anyone either way what to do, but I'm wondering:
Why don't we make beauty our own? Be beautiful on our own terms? And if no one agrees to our conditions, let them look elsewhere?

I like your ideas, especially "Be beautiful on our own terms"! Inspiring. One will never satisfy everyone, and trying to please everyone will lead only to unhappiness.
Seize the memory, yes,
then let them go . . .
lest your fist grip too tight
and crush the fragile bloom.
(Was it ever mine to begin with?)
le Fae is reminded of the saying, "One cannot gather beauty by plucking its petals," or something like that. Take the picture, whether literal or a mental snapshot, then allow it to slip free on the current of time. Trying to reverse time is futile and will only cause frustration.
Those are Fae's thoughts, anyways.
